Our mission since 2018 has been to develop an innovative medical product that effectively treats insect bites in a "smart" way. Insect bites can be treated effectively with heat, but the available products were too clunky, inflexible, and not always with us. This inspired our 4 founders, who were still studying engineering, to start Kamedi GmbH, a dynamic startup based in Karlsruhe, Germany.

Since 2019, we have been a certified medical device manufacturer with our own development and production in the Technologiefabrik Karlsruhe. Today, more than 15 clever minds are working in various departments of our medtech startup, ensuring that we don't leave anything out of our hands, from procurement to production to shipping.

Our journey has been marked by several milestones: in 2023, we launched in the US; in 2022, we reached the milestone of 250,000 customers; in 2021, we introduced a new product generation; in 2020, we launched our sales; in 2019, we successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign; and in 2018, we founded Kamedi GmbH.

The brilliant idea behind our product, heat it, originally came about in 2017 during a student competition. Frustrated with mosquito bites, we tried out the treatment using concentrated heat and were immediately convinced by the active principle. So we decided to take the development into our own hands and create a solution that meets the highest standards.

As a medical device, heat it is TÜV Süd certified in Germany, and it offers a sophisticated safety concept to optimally protect your smartphone and its battery. The natural, chemical-free treatment works just with concentrated heat (124 °F) and is medically proven to treat the itch and pain of bites and stings caused by mosquitoes, bees, wasps, bugs, and horseflies.

You can individually adjust the treatment to your skin sensitivity using our free app, which offers 12 modes, including sensitive skin and kids (from 3 years, self-use 12+). Your ideal companion for everyday use, travel, and sports, heat it is always with you on your keychain, providing itch relief wherever you go.

Made in Germany, our medical device doesn't need batteries, so you profit from an innovative product without follow-up costs. One application requires at most 0.1% of your smartphone battery, making it a convenient and cost-effective solution.
